Visit of Ruth Croft and Josh Komen to GHS

the year 9 and 10s went into the hall to hear Josh and Ruth's life story.

Josh's life story was about how he was one of the best runners in New Zealand then he was diagnosed with leukaemia. His life was hard when he had leukaemia, he was in and out of hospital for months and days. Then he recovered for a bit then when back to running then again he was diagnosed with leukaemia again for the second time then went into intensive care then he got suicide disease, which is the most painful thing known to man as he said. Then he was donated some sort of blood thing from a young lady from Germany then he went to go see her then hangout with her. And now he works for a ice bath and a electrical company.

Ruth's story is about how she kept failing then succeeded. When Ruth was young she was taught about hard work by her dad, Ruth would work with her dad doing things that no one else would do, her dad gave her a glove that was half of her hand but then she had to put her hand down a drain which was the length of her whole arm

hangi post

 March 19

We walked to Whare Manaaki then started working on preparing for the hangi while some were digging the hole and then Messiah andI were breaking up bread and putting it on pots

hole. I did the preparation of the stuffing while others were cutting onions or making fried bread and some were salting meat and chicken. To make the hangi we needed to break up bread and to put it in the pot so we had at least 5 pots of bread then after the making of stuffing then three people, Messiah, Nikau and Matua Joe.

and then Messiah and I were salting the chicken and meat so the food can have a nice flavour.
